Atmel (R) Corporation today announced the launch of the new UHF ASK / FSK receiver ICs (IC) - ATA5745 and ATA5746, extends Atmel's broad existing portfolio of automotive RF devices. Environment in the standard car, ATA5745 the operation frequency of 433-435 MHz, and ATA5746 for the band 313-315 MHz. These single-chip device is the use of Atmel's RF BiCMOS process new production, in order to achieve a more small-size design. These devices have the industry's smallest size - 5 mm x 5 mm, with remote keyless entry (RKE) and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) applications to achieve the perfect combination.

Benefit from fully integrated filters, these devices achieve a large bandwidth and excellent receiving the best combination of selectivity. This allows systems designers to develop highly sophisticated from a very low cost to a wide range of TPMS and RKE solutions, while the competing solutions due to their smaller bandwidth and can not be used for these low-cost systems. The new receiver ICs need few external devices and no external filters, resulting in improved cost-effectiveness of end-system. Only eight passive components, a crystal and an RF antenna to create a receiver board application. Integrated circuits due to the higher oscillation margin, designers can use low-cost crystal.

ATA5745 and ATA5746 with the TPMS and RKE signals the ability to quickly switch can be used with different definitions of a unified system RKE / TPMS automotive application environments, without the need for two separate RKE and TPMS ICs. No need to change the integrated circuit components in ASK and FSK data rate, as well as inter-change modulation type, receiving different RKE / TPMS modulation configuration and data rate, it is very important to this ability. They can with four different baud rate in the range of 1-20-Kbit / s Manchester FSK mode of operation, without any components in the board can be adjusted through the choice of microcontroller. ASK / FSK data rate, as well as between different types of modulation can be a typical switching time less than 1 ms to achieve.

These receiver ICs include an integrated collection of information filter, low-noise VCO, PLL and loop filter, and without any of these function blocks for the external components. Fully integrated RF circuits achieve an image rejection of 30 dB. ATA5745 and ATA5746 are transparent receivers can check the model and query capacity with a single mode of operation of the microcontroller at the same time.

In receiving mode, the active current consumption is about 6.5 mA, which is based on single-ended RF input for easy adaptation of lambda / 4 or printed loop antennas.

These devices support in the ASK mode header (header) and blanking cycle for the United States to meet the requirements of a typical agreement, telegraph pulse width of 52 ms.

QFN24 packaged Samples are available now. ATA5745 and ATA5746 for the starting price of 1.40 U.S. dollars (10,000 quantities the price). To support the system designer, Atmel provides the price of 99 U.S. dollars for the ATA5745-EK and ATA5746-EK evaluation board.
